Individualized Approach. Our mission is to provide intensive treatment while enabling participants to continue with their normal lives in all beneficial ways. Therefore, we can design a treatment schedule that allows the participant to come to any of our six days of programming and attend hours that allow for other outside activities (such as taking off early two nights a week to attend classes).
Reliability. The Atlanta Center for Eating Disorders has been offering day treatment and intensive outpatient treatment for individuals with eating disorders since 1993. We are the longest-standing intensive outpatient facility in Georgia. People from all over the southeast have come to Atlanta to receive treatment at ACE.
Stability. ACE has a core of staff members who have been with us for over 10 years, providing excellent continuity and knowledge as a team.
Expertise. Over one third of the treatment staff are doctoral level clinicians, and our masters level clinicians have many years of specialized experience.
Successful Outcome. Data show that people who come to ACE get better on EVERY MEASURE, including eating disorder symptoms, depression and anxiety levels. Although the program was more full than ever and the patient-to-staff ratio declined slightly in 2012, the outcomes continue to get stronger every year. 88% of all patients were improved, with 43% meeting full discharge criteria upon leaving. The average length of stay was 12 weeks.
Diversity. It is the policy of the Atlanta Center for Eating Disorders to promote and provide a staff that is representative of the population served. This includes clinical staff, management and administrative positions. We seek to respond as an organization to the diversity of participants with regard to culture, age, gender, sexual orientation, spiritual beliefs, socioeconomic status and language. We ensure the competency of our clinicians with regard to all issues of diversity.
