Our ability to individualize client treatment schedules is a unique aspect of the ACE program and one of which we are most proud. Most intensive programs require that all participants attend the whole program. Our mission is to provide intensive treatment while encouraging people to maintain their normal lives as much as possible. As you progress in your recovery, you can taper groups to your own pace.
Day Hospital / Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP):
Involves a 2–6 day commitment per week, 6–8 hours a day. The average length of stay at this level of treatment is three weeks, followed by tapering to the IOP level (see below). Your initial schedule will be determined with the Psychologist during your Initial assessment (your first visit). This program includes the following:
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP):
IOP involves from two groups to twelve groups per week on one to five days per week. The average length of stay is ten weeks followed by aftercare. As mentioned before, most participants start with several groups then taper as time goes by. IOP includes the following:
Aftercare Program (AP):
The AP program is recommended for people who no longer have active eating disorder symptoms but would continue to benefit from group and individual or family therapy. You may become an AP participant after reducing your schedule from IOP or after your initial assessment if you already meet the criteria. AP consists of only one group a week and one optional meal group as well as individual or family therapy (optional, not required).
